Redefining the Agency: Post-1989 Crisis of the Czech and Former East German Theatre
How do theatre and the society influence each other? The project aims to establish a new understanding of this mutual relationship. Radka Kunderová investigates the theatre-society connection by analyzing the redefinition of theatre’s agency in times of profound social and political changes. Her research features the so-called “crisis” of post-1989 theatre in the former East Germany and Czechoslovakia as a case study.
“Theatre ReDefined” is conducted at the Institute for Theatre Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin.
