News from Jul 20, 2020

Mark your calendars for “Theatre ReDefined“ international conference on 28–29 May, 2021! The conference titled “Redefining Theatre: Theatre and Society in Transition” will take place on the premises of the Freie Universität Berlin.

The event will focus on theatre in times of societal transition both in general terms and with a specific focus on the post-1989 transformations in Central and Eastern Europe. Special emphasis will be placed on the inter-relations between theatre and the public spheres, and on power relations within theatre and its social and political contexts. The program will assemble scholars from both the former Western and Eastern Europe.

The conference is a part of the Marie Curie-Skłodowska project “Redefining the Agency: Post-1989 Crisis of the Czech and Former East German Theatre” currently conducted by Dr. Radka Kunderová at the Institute for Theatre Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin.

Further information will be available soon here and on “Theatre ReDefined“ Facebook and Instagram profiles.
